The Baby K’tan Baby Carrier is a cross between a sling and a more structured front infant carrier, providing the positions and benefits of both, plus more! Babies can be snuggled (and breastfed!) in the Hug or Explore positions. They can be carried upright (facing in or out), and as they get older, they can be carried on your hip. Many people ask us how the Baby K'tan carrier differs from a wrap carrier. The difference is in their designs and how you put each one one. Our Baby Carrier is tested for quality and safety for carrying 8 pound babies all the way up to 35 lb. toddlers (consult pediatrician for preemies). Please read all instructions and warnings before using our carrier.

The Baby K’tan Baby Carrier is offered in sizes XS, S, M, L and XL. Sizing is based on your pre-pregnancy fitted dress size (or suit jacket size for men). Please refer to our sizing chart to determine your sizing. If you are in-between sizes, we recommend you choose the smaller size.

The Baby K’tan Baby Carrier is offered in sizes XS, S, M, L and XL. Please refer to our sizing chart to determine if you and your partner can wear the same size carrier or if it is beneficial for you to order two different size carriers. We strongly recommend that each user finds the right fit.

The Baby K'tan is available in sizes XS, S, M, L and XL and can not be adjusted to a different size. We have designed the Baby K'tan to ensure the safety and comfort of both parent and baby. The carrier has NO buckles, rings, snaps, metal or plastic hoops that could potentially come undone. When the correct size carrier is purchased, our Baby Carrier is structured to fit the wearer in a secure and comfortable fashion. Therefore, no adjusting is necessary. New baby carrier industry standards state that baby carriers should only be used for one infant at a time. The Baby K’tan has been used successfully for carrying twins in the past; however, we no longer list these positions.

Unlike most slings which concentrate your baby’s weight load on one shoulder, the Baby K’tan Baby Carrier’s unique double-loop design and sliding support band distributes your baby’s weight across both of your shoulders and back, providing much needed back support. The wide cross stretch cotton fabric can be spread over your shoulders to further distribute your baby’s weight. As your child grows older, he or she can be carried in the hip position, whereby your toddler’s weight is distributed on your hip, shoulder and back. Our unique design offers the wearer a 100% cotton carrier with NO buckles, snaps, rings or hardware, that would otherwise make baby wearing complicated and uncomfortable.

Yes, it can. It is well known that children with developmental delays and special needs benefit from being carried close to the wearer, especially during the infant stage. The Baby K’tan creates the ideal environment for development and growth. At the same time, it offers infants a tight swaddled, deep pressure input, providing security and assurance to infants with sensory integration dysfunction and other developmental disorders such as Autism and Cerebral Palsy. Studies have also shown the infants with hypotonia (low muscle tone) are adversely affected by baby carriers that place their legs in excessive abduction (legs spread too far apart). With the Baby K’tan Baby Carrier, there is a position where babies can still face forward and see the world while having their legs in a more developmentally appropriate posture. The Baby K’tan Baby Carrier is 100% cotton knit and is both machine washable and dryer safe.

Please follow these simple washing instructions:
Machine wash cold, Wash with like colors only. Use only non-chlorine bleach when needed. Tumble dry low. Make sure to wash separately before first use.

The Baby K’tan Baby Carrier is made of 100% cotton knit. Accordingly, the carrier may shrink slightly after washing. However, the cross stretch of the cotton fabric enables our carrier to stretch with use and conform close to its original size.

Our Baby Carrier is tested for quality and safety under FHSA (Federal Hazardous Substances Act) and ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) guidelines. Every person who uses our Baby Carrier must read the instructions and warnings before using the Baby K'tan Baby Carrier.

Baby K'tan embraces the CPSC warning. We believe that all parents and caregivers should be aware of the correct and safe way to wear their babies in slings and carriers. The Baby K'tan carrier's hybrid design enables the baby to be carried in a more upright and secure position. Please read and review all safety warnings and instructions prior to placing your baby in the Baby K'tan carrier. We recommend the following when wearing your child in the Baby K'tan: Place child chin up with face clearly visible and nose and mouth free of fabric. Check on the child often. If nursing in the Baby K'tan, change the baby's position after feeding so its head is facing up and clear of both the sling and the mother's body. Do not allow the sling to cover the baby's face. Do not carry the child too low in the sling. Do not carry the child hunched with its chin touching its chest. Do not carry the baby with its face pressed tight against the wearer of the sling.

Orders received after 4pm will be processed on the next business day. We take pride in shipping out all orders received Monday through Friday within 24-72 hours of ordering. Yes it will! The Baby K'tan is sized to fit the wearer and we have sizes ranging all the way up to XL (Women's size 18-22, Men's Suit Size 47-50).
